I wrote only a little draft; britlion wrote the current detailed content.

It was good - I just thought a little background explaining why it was a good thing to list a function twice wouldn't hurt.

(And I really appreciate efforts to make the wiki as up to date as possible! Writing first drafts of documentation is much harder than editing it to be smoother!)
